HTTP Tunneling
|
|
The function is to make RTSP stream, which is the most popular stream for
IP surveillance application, can be passed through HTTP port (Normally, we
set it to be 80) of Firewall.
We always set up Firewall to prevent
unnecessary or illegal traffic from hurting our valuable data or computers
within company except opening HTTP for accessing Web Page, which can not be
omitted. So, access by HTTP protocol is the only one operation to be allowed
on Firewall, in term of serious security control. By HTTP tunneling, RTSP
stream from our IP camera can be freely reached even it is set up behind some
Firewall.
The feature has been provided on the products as follows: . H.264 Mega Pixel Series . H.264 IP Module Series . H.264 IP Dome Series . H.264 IR IP Camera Series . H.264 IP Camera Series . H.264 Video Server Series

Example 1:
|
When you install some Firewall to prevent any attack from
internet. You will define very serious security policy on the Firewall, the
only exception is Web Page access. When you install some IP camera behind the
Firewall, any users outside your company want to access the IP camera, if you
enable HTTP Tunneling function on it, now, RTSP stream will go through HTTP
tunnel (HTTP port, normally, we set it to 80) to pass through the Firewall,
otherwise, the RTSP steam will be denied.

Firewall, any users outside the company and at some public place, which will
allow only HTTP port opened to maintain higher level of security
control, if you enable HTTP Tunneling function on the IP camera, now, after
you request RTSP stream from the IP camera, it can be coming through the
Firewall of the public place to be reached by you. |
